The US Open of Mountain Bike took place May 24 - 25 at the Diablo Freeride park in Mountain Creek ,NJ. Early qualifying had Monster Energy / Specialized rider Sam Hill in the 3rd position and soon after the rain started. Leaving a totally different course with the ongoing rain, Sam overcame the weather putting together a downhill race run almost 2.5 seconds faster than next finisher Gee Atherton.

 Next was the Giant Slalom! On the tighter BMX style course Sam finished a hard fought second place following his teammate Brendan Fairclough and ahead of 3rd place Brian Lopes.
