JASON LAWRENCE INTERVIEW
After a greasy cheeseburger with no onions, order of fries with extra salt and a large soda later from In & Out, Spy’s ‘bad boy’ moto rider J-Law rolled into Spy headquarters for a quick photoshoot session for Spy’s newest eyewear campaign. Without a helmet or hat on, his messy “I don’t give a %#$” rockstar hair suits his persona well. We caught up with J-Law for a few minutes…

Spy: Where are you living these days?
J-Law: Dorothy, New Jersey. I love the east coast.
Spy: How long have you been riding for?
J-Law: About 15 years now.
Spy: You’ve been with Spy for a while now…
J-Law: Yeah, I’ve been a team rider since 2003. I was 13 at the time.
Spy: Stats?
J-Law: I’m 5’7” and weigh in at 150.
Spy: When you’re not riding, what are you doing?
J-Law: I play video games, ride pit bikes and play some b-ball.
Spy: When was your first motocross race?
J-Law: I was racing 50cc quads. That was back in 1991 when I was four years old.
Spy: What’s the best part about being a pro racer?
J-Law: Living your dream and getting to travel all year. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Spy: What are your plans after racing (which won’t be for a while)?
J-Law: Live in Florida with the family and have fun in the sun till the end. Ha. I just made it rhyme.
Spy: Highlight for the ’09 season?
J-Law: Moving up to the 450 class and a podium finish at Daytona.
Spy: Where you off to next?
J-Law: Getting ready for the 2009 Outdoor Motocross Nationals.
Spy: Favorite pair of Spy’s right now?
J-Law: All new Tice. It’s sick.
Spy: Last but not least, what’s playing in the I-pod right now?
J-Law: Rick Ross/50 cent.
Spy: Thanks for taking a few minutes with us. Good luck at Nationals.
J-Law: Yeah, anytime. Peace.
