This past Holiday weekend, Stevie Bell hit the slopes of Utah, and worked off all the Turkey day gluttony. Check Stevie rocking the Zed goggle. Goggles look dope on him. The 2nd stop of the Womens Triple Crown was at Sunset Beach for the Gidget Pro.
Alana once again proved that she was not just a pretty face in women’s professional surfing but she was one of the rising crop of new girls that is raising the bar in women’s surfing.
Thoughout the final day of the event the women showed that they could set up to the plate when the surf got big. In Hawaiian 6-8 foot waves, meaning waves with 12-16 foot faces Alana used her big wave knowledge to do man style carves which would finally give her a 4th palce finish.
This is her best career showing in a WCT surf contest. Now it’s a tight race between her and the newly corwned women’s WCT Champion Stephanie Gilmore, for that coveted Triple Crown title. The next stop and last stop on the tour is in Maui. For more information on the Van’s Triple Crown click here

‘Videograss’, self-titled, debut release might have caught a few people by surprise. The hand picked crew was made without any sponsor bias or worries about money. Mikey/Darrell/Nima chose a crew of their friends that they enjoyed watching snowboard and threw them all into one video. Everyone in the crew are actually friends and bring their own personal twist to an intensely skate influenced video. The current cliches surrounding snowboard videos are non existent with Videograss. They ditched the idea of cable cams, dolly shots, techno music, and helicopter on helicopter action…and instead stuck with raw snowboarding, real personality, good tunes, plenty of fisheyes, and no slow-mo bullshit. If you are looking for an honest snowboard video that you can actually relate to, then pick up a copy and enjoy.

Just checking in from BC Canada. Its been dumping so we did a product testing trip to baker yesterday. The new vivo goods are looking tight!

The 1st stop of the Triple Crown is the Reef Hawaiian Pro. Along with the Men’s 6 star prime WQS event there was a non-rated specialty women’s surf event. Because there were only 2 women’s events going into Hawaii this event was put in there to make the women’s Triple Crown complete.
The surf in Haleiwa was below the Hawaiian standards of good surf but to most the surf still very rippable. All of the top rated women surfers from the WCT there along with some of the top rated Hawaiian surfers.
Alana has had tough year with things not going her way in competitive surfing until now. She aggressively attacked every heat and surfed with the energy of someone who was very hungry for a win and did not want to lose.
Her break came in the quarter finals when she was sitting in 3rd place and not advancing with seconds left in the heat, when 2 Australian surfers crossed paths and a double interference was called allowing Alana to make the heat.
Alana took advantage of that break which would eventually give her the win for the 1st Triple Crown leg held at Haleiwa.

How do you get to the beach? You know you are doing well when you have your own model car to get to the beach.
