The 2nd stop of the Womens Triple Crown was at Sunset Beach for the Gidget Pro.

Alana once again proved that she was not just a pretty face in women’s professional surfing but she was one of the rising crop of new girls that is raising the bar in women’s surfing.

Thoughout the final day of the event the women showed that they could set up to the plate when the surf got big. In Hawaiian 6-8 foot waves, meaning waves with 12-16 foot faces Alana used her big wave knowledge to do man style carves which would finally give her a 4th palce finish.

This is her best career showing in a WCT surf contest. Now it’s a tight race between her and the newly corwned women’s WCT Champion Stephanie Gilmore, for that coveted Triple Crown title. The next stop and last stop on the tour is in Maui. For more information on the Van’s Triple Crown click here
