Parker Coffin is a 14-year old grom that not only rips in the water he is one of the funniest kids I have ever had the chance to get to know.
Parker is from Santa Barbara California and he is in my opinion one of the best 14-year old surfer around. He has enough amateur trophies to fill a room.
What separates Parker from the rest of his surfing peers is his personality. He will keep you laughing non-stop. It’s not your normal 14-year-old sense of humor. Along with his 4.0+ grade point average, it’s easy to see why this 14-year old grom is on the road to stardom.
It’s odd to think that Spy has only sponsored Parker for a little less than 2 years now, because I feel that I have had a lifetime of great experiences with him already.
Here are a few pictures and some very recent video clips of him surfing. I expect big things from this kid so stayed tuned and keep an eye out for Parker Coffin.
This is my introduction of Parker Coffin to all of you.

May 13-16 2010 was the NSSA West Coast Championships at Huntington Beach CA on the southside of the pier. The surf was really large and the groms held their own throughout the entire event. The surf was so big that it was postponed on Sunday for 1 more day in hopes that the conditions would settle down some. On Monday the conditions did settle down and the contest was on for the finals in all the divisions.
Spy’s Parker Coffin from Santa Barbara was the event standout. Parker proved that he was going to be one of the top amateur’s in competitive surfing. Parker made 4 divisional finals. His results were: Explorer Boys division 1st place, Explorer Juniors division 4th place, Open Juniors division 3rd place and Open Mens division 1st place.
Stay tuned for a complete video on Parker’s NSSA West Coast Championships.

Tommy Searle came out swinging in the first moto at Hangtown. He ripped a second place start and was battling for the top spot with Trey Canard, Christophe Pourcel, and rookie Eli Tomac. The moto came down to the last lap with Searle leading and Pourcel in second. The two riders battled the entire last lap and Pourcel made the pass for win just a few corners before the finish.
In the second moto Tommy was running up front again until he smashed his shift lever under his motor and couldn’t shift the bike. He pulled into the mechanics area and had it fixed after a couple laps. At the end of the moto Tommy was back in 8th which would have gave him third overall until he crashed and was unable to finish the moto. Tommy feels good after the weekend and feels that he can be up front all year.
The goggle set up we used was the Klutch destroy goggle with 20 tear offs, and Tommy says they worked and fit perfect!
Nick Wey and Grant Langston finished 19th and 20th. They both struggled a bit with their set up on the bike but feel fit and will continue to push forward each race. They both were stoked on their goggles and said they worked awesome.
Here is a teaser from Grow Up productions, starring our boy Nicki Wiess. Nicki has been out stacking footy all season with Grow up and Rome for their up and coming videos. Keep an eye out for Nicki on a silver screen near you.
