Today we’re bringing you another epic Reef Week show; one of Florida’s top surfers, Ben Bourgeois, is here in the studio. Plus, today’s musical guest Between the Buried and Me brings their metal chaos to the Stride Sound Stage. Also, youth group leaders Jordan Morris and Jill Donnelly get lost in the mayhem at the third annual Punk Rock Picnic. On May 13-15 was the Volcom VQS Championships. The 3 day event was filled with international surfers and the water was flairing hard. Airs, throw tais and ridiculouss maneuvers were being displayed in front of the beach-goers at 54th Street Newport Beach CA. When the contest ended the 2 Spy surfers that rose to the top were Cody Thompson placing 4th Pro Am division and Parker Coffin placing 2nd in the airshow division.

Spy MX athletes will be heading to Sacramento CA. this weekend for the first of 12 of the outdoor national races. The outdoor series will start out west and head back east as the series goes on and will end in our backyard at Pala raceway on September 11th.
Kevin Windham had another awesome Supercross series finishing second overall. K-Dub had 8 podiums and 2 of them were wins at Salt Lake and Seattle. Kevin had the fastest qualifying time at many races and won a hand full of heat races. We are proud to be a part of K-Dubs racing program and thank him for all of the hard work and effort in 2010.
Kevin Windham will not be racing the outdoors as he was set up for a Supercross only program in 2010.
We will see him next at the X-Games in July.
Grant Langston will be competing for the first time since 2007 in which he won the championship. Grant has won both a lites and premier class championship as well as a world lites motocross championship. Grant feels confident that he can be a top contender at every race and wants to finish the series out strong.
Nick Wey will be riding for the factory Monster Energy Kawasaki team for outdoors. Nick will be on the team with current outdoor champion Chad Reed. This should be a good season for Nick, he is stoked to be on such a solid team and feels awesome on the bike and has been working hard to prove he belongs there.
Tommy Searle will be starting his second season here in the US. He is from Great Britain and raced all over Europe in the GP’s where he has two runner up seasons prior to making the move to the US in 2009. The KTM factory team that Tommy rides for has an all new bike for the season and Tommy says he loves it and feels super confident that he can be up front.

We continue Reef Week with surfer, artist, Reef team rider and all around SoCal ripper, Mike Losness. Plus, Mike joins Timmy Curran on a California rail ride at the premiere of “The Union Express.” Also, we’re bringing you a never-before-seen, jaw dropping musical performance by the ever entertaining Foxy Shazam. The Spyrates Pillage and Plunder Am Slam by Sun Diego

Mission Beach was the sight, and the street course was being demoloshed by pint sized shredders doing grown ass man moves! (aka Man -nuevers)The Sun Diego Am Slam was off and popping when we arrived on scene. The 13 and under division was well underway with some 11 year old shredders laying some serious truck metal down on the coping and launching some serious flip tricks over the hips and pyramids. These guys were bringing some serious youth to some grown up obstacles.
As the day went on the Spyrates found some minions to do some dirty work as CBS College Sports rolled up on the set and pushed their timeline on the Pro Am Division. Just as guys were attacking the handrail with some nollie krooks, the crooks from CBS Sports came in and blew the spot by pushing the College division up instead of finishing the Pro Am. We sent our minions on a pillage and plunder mission to attack the Volcom booth, with their own give away goodies. Hats, beanies, and even loose change were redirected back towards the Volcom booth with extreme prejudice. A counter attack on the Spyrates was thwarted as we Spyrates have an eye for intended mischief and shannanigans.
The Scalley Wags
As the contest rolled on, the big boys came out again and laid some serious tricks off the double set and down the handrail. Guys were hitting every obstacle fast and stomping some big flip tricks and gap transfers. The sun came out and the crowd from the beach joined to watch the boys of summer wreck shop on the course. At the end of the day, the real winner was Sun Diego for putting on a sick demo with a legit course. This was the first of many Am Slam events to pepper the calendar this summer. If you get a chance to come out, you should, keep an eye on SPY for event dates and details and make sure you come out and say hello!
This is the 5th and final day at the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro. This day was about the Pro Junior semifinals and the finals for the Spy surfers The surfers in this video are Evan Thompson and Tyler Newton.
