As everyone knows we are back on the Zumiez Couch Tour. We will be hitting all 12 stops giving free glasses away and have the best time of our lives to kick off summer. Here are some highlights from the 6th & 7th stops of this 12 stop tour in Texas with the Volcom team. We hung with amazing people, and saw great skating.. Big shout out to Duncombe for coming and chilling, and of course all the guys on Volcom.
Josh Demuth raced to his third straight podium with his third place finish. Mason Phillips ended up 7th and Troy Adams rode through some pain from a previous crash to finish twelfth overall on the day.
Demuth grabbed the holeshot the first MX1 moto and led half the race and would finish in third.
Demuth started outside the top ten in the second moto and had to battle through the pack to get to the lead group, he finished fourth for a third place overall finish.
“I finally got the good start that I’ve been looking for,” said Demuth. “It felt good to lead the moto for a while and now I just need to work on keeping my speed up for the entire moto. The bike is working really well for me and I think we’ll be ready to push towards the championship in the second half of the season.”

July is a leisurely month and nothing says leisure like a little lawn bowling. Spy is once again a proud sponsor of the inaugural Vancouver Leisure Life Tour event, a lawn bowling tournament raising money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The 4-week tour is held on four consecutive Thursday nights, at the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club in Vancouver, BC.
The decision to support Cystic Fibrosis was inspired by Eva Markvoort, a friend of the organizers who has CF. Furthermore, CF is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting young Canadians. At last years event, 150+ participants raised over $11,000 for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
For 2010, Spy sunglasses will once again be awarded to team with the Sunniest Disposition throughout the entire event. Stay tuned for details of each stop in the series. Click here to check out some of the latest press in Georgia Straight.
