Airing Tuesday, September 21 at 9:00 pm Eastern Time (6:00 pm Pacific Time), SPY’s Louie Vito and musical guest Fang Island will appear on “The Daily Habit.”

For today’s Viewers Pick, we take a second look at someone who had quite an eventful 2009. Olympian, pro snowboarder and dancing sensation Louie Vito is back on The Habit. Vito and his “Dancing with the Stars” partner Chelsea Hightower reveal their secrets for dance floor domination. Plus, our very own Jordan Morris and Renee Renee discover their jobs at FUEL TV are in jeopardy. Knowing the network can only afford one correspondent, the two battle it out at Playstation’s Mod Nation event, where the winner will decide who stays and who goes. Also, today’s musical guest Fang Island delivers their dynamic throwback sound to the Stride Sound Stage.

Louie Vito’s sponsors include: Nike 6.0, Monster Energy, 686, O-Matic, Spy Optic, Grenade, Vestal, Kicker, Neff, Utility, Mt. High and Sprint.

Photo: Louie wears his spankin’ new 2011 Signature Trevor LV goggle that matches his full setup. Available at a SPY dealer nearest you in October…hmmm tasty.

7th Annual Hot Dawgz and Handrails… Big Bear Mountain

September 20th, 2010

This past weekend Bear Mountain kicked off their 7th annual Hot Dawgz and Handrails event that coincides with their preseason season pass sale. The day was beautiful and the temperature was warm, but that did not stop the Bear crew from creating an amazing setup for the athletes to shred and put on a great show for the 7,000 people who attended the event.

6 am sunshine!

6 am sunshine!

After an early morning departure, Brent and I met up with our handsome Orange County rep Nik Hennessee at the bottom of the mountain, to jump in the Spy all terrain vehicle aka the “Spy Van” and have a unified force as we entered the land of pop up tents and industry bros. Seconds from jumping out of the van Nik marked our zone like he was claiming his land during the turn of the century when the pioneers where venturing west for land. He got us prime corner location right in the mix of the tent city. We quickly set up shop, got our game all put together, so we could stoke out the kids, and they could win prizes, and just doing what we do best making people walk away with a smile and a great feeling about Spy.

As the day went on we had a huge crowd of people around the booth screaming for stickers and glasses or goggles, one kid asked for the shirt right Brent’s back! We had both adults and kids playing the game know as the “Dookie Dunk Tank” where we had a a toilet bowl that Nik bought, gallons of lemon aid and two bags of Baby Ruth bars and Paydays. The contestant would then have to dunk their head in to the toilet bowl and fish out the candy bars with there mouths. I have never see so many kids wanting to do such a thing!

Around 2 o’clock the contest started and the athletes had an hour of practices, then 2 separate 1 hour jams on the features. The riders rode for a straight 3 hours, in the heat, just hiking the set up. I can say I was so very happy not to be in there boots, if you know what I mean. It was an intense battle through out those 2 hours, riders dropping every rail trick you have ever seen, just putting everything on the table and going for broke. We saw some carnage and we saw some heroics.

Over all it was an awesome day ay Bear, tons of smiles, happy people, mad Spy’s being rocked. I want to give Brent, Nik and myself a pat on the back for handling this 5:45am to not getting home until 10 pm event, and knocking it out of the park.. People went home knowing that Spy was there! Check back on the site for the video to drop, as well as check out Snowboarder mag for their full recap!
