Transworld Snow caught up with Eero Niemela after his video part just dropped in People productions new movie “Good Look”. So you should take a look, Eero is very easy on the eyes.
This past thursday, we loaded up the SPY RV with Eero Niemela and a group of friends from all over the world and headed up to check out Eero’s new part in People’s newest movie “Good Look”. The RV filled to capacity with some real characters including fellow snowboarders Austin Smith, Curtis Ciszek, Brian Fox and the legendary Scotty Wittlake. If you’ve ever hung in the northwest, you know these boys are known to bring an exceptionally good time, and this night didn’t disappoint. The ride up was one filled with smiles, laughter, road sodas, and wizard staffs - the perfect equation for memorable fun. Oh, and did I mention we were going to the Oakley headquarters? That’s right, the SPY RV, loaded with the best of the best, was making their way to Oakley. After a grand entrance consisting of hand shakes, high fives, and more adult beverages, the movies began. Eero’s part was insane and of course we had a blast and showed everyone that we know how to party. We topped it all off with a massive team order at in n out, courtesy of a good friend, and sent it into double double bliss.. Thanks boys for a great time, and congrats Eero for another killer video part.
The first thing I noticed about the new Klutch goggle was the unique design of the foam. The outer layer that touches your face is more pillow-topped and designed to hold more sweat. I have always been one to sweat a lot, even after a short time of physical abuse, whether I am in shape or not. As soon as I put on the goggle I immediately noticed that the goggle felt very flush to my face. There was no gap in the middle of my forehead and around my nose. I used the new Klutch goggles for the last few local races, and the motos aren’t very long, and I did sweat but not enough to put the new foam to the test. I recently went and raced the last Motocross National in Pala, California. I qualified and put in two 30+2 solid motos. Going into the motos I was rather nervous about running the new goggles being prior to this national I had always attached “women’s pads” to the tops of the goggles to hold the sweat better. I ran the new Klutch goggles in both motos with no pads and was perfectly fine! What might have also helped with the sweat issue is the ventilation. While I was riding I could feel a small, light breeze around my eyes cooling my face off. I was very impressed and I am very confident in using the new style Klutch in any long, physical moto with no pad to hold the sweat.
Whip -
When I first put the new Whip goggle on my face even without a helmet, I noticed that I could see everywhere. The sight from my peripheral vision was excellent. The best thing about the new Whip goggle was that it wasn’t hard to get into my helmet even though it seemed wider and didn’t look goofy like a wide face goggle. The goggle felt very soft on my face and I felt like it held sweat great.
SPY is proud have two of our boys featured in the Curt Morgan and Travis Rice’s newest cinema experience, The Art of Flight, featuring Travis Rice and a list of the best snowboarders in the world traveling to the ends of the earth and pushing the boundaries of snowboarding as we know them. Eero Niemela and DCP both joined the Brain Farm crew last winter in these adventures and walked away with their foot print in what will become a movie that changed the perspective of snow cinematography.
