A jam packed week of shenanigans from Rob’s Fantasy Factory party in downtown LA, to VIP access tour at X Games 16, hanging poolside at the SPY mansion, riding moto at Pala Raceway, hot laps at K-1 Speedway, surfing with the Transworld Surf crew, sushi with overflowing saki bombs, to Surf Bowl in Oceanside, boating and shredding at the Carlsbad lagoon, an afterparty at Zenbu and everything else rolled in between.
Today Gymkhana will be dropping the first part of their third film, we thought since we are a part of the “Block Party” now that we should take a roll in helping blast this out to the masses, since we know everyone is going to love it. This video is next level. Check out the “Cool Kids” rocking our Tice shade as well as Ken rocking our Murena’s and Kubriks. Check out our beloved Brent Sandor making waves in the industry, with his aggressive edgy take on goggle design and his love for art. Brent breaks it down to us in his interview on Shay Boarder how snowboarding and art open may doors for him; “Snowboarding and art have introduced me to a world of friends and allowed me further my love of art and design. Snowboarding and art have brought me places and experiences most people will not get. It sounds cliché, but skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding defined the fork in the road where I chose the path I am on today…” We here at Spy feel blessed to have Brent manning our guns when it comes to the world of goggle design.. Congrats Brent.. its true what they say.. Hard work does pay off.

I wanted to share this great interview that was passed along to me of Louie Vito. Louie had an amazing season this past year, and really showed the world that he is one of the bests, and that the sky is the limit. We are very proud to have Louie as one of our family members. The world is yours Louie, keep chasing your dreams!
We cruised up to the Agenda Trade Show in Huntington Beach to slap some hi fives, have a couple meetings with some topic secret colabs we are dropping, and of course check out the show and see whats in store for the next couple seasons. As we were roaming the show we ran into our boy Louie Vito, he was signing autographs at the Incipio booth. Here are some shoots of Louie doing his thing and also showing us his pro model case
Spy did it big down under this past couple of days at the Burton New Zealand Open. With both of the golden boys getting a spot on the podium. Louie Vito who has been crushing the contest circuit all year grabbing that 3rd place, and Ipod who has pretty much dominated everything grabbing the win and being crowned the winner of men’s halfpipe for the 2010 NZ open. Big shout out and congrats to both of the guys! Keep the hard work up and keep crushing it. Check out Transworld Snow for the whole story and coverage.
Just when everyone thought that summer was here and all the snow of winter had been melted away, Darrell Mathes shows us something a tad bit different. He was up at High Cascade Snowboard Camp shredding for the signature Videograss session. Check out this rad video they put together. Props Darrell, digging all that Spy love! DAY 6: WEDNESDAY Sun burnt, tired and exhausted from having way too much fun the retailers rallied one last day to the Carlsbad Lagoon where we all piled onto the Liquid Force boat for another day of sunshine and shredding. SPY’s Jimmy LaRiche and Melissa Marquardt were putting on a show for us as everyone oooh and ahhhs could be heard around the boat. Thanks to Christopher for sending over Monster Energy truckers to keep the retailers from being completely burnt to a crisp. Another special thanks to TW Wakeboarding and Alliance Wakeboarding bringing out the long lens for helping shoot photos from jetskiis. And yeah, filmer Mauricio hanging on for dear life up top of the boat as he was filming for our yet to be released badass SPY Boot Camp 8/VAS Entertainment video!
After sun burnt lips and melted sunscreen, we dove into bags of In & Out then headed over to the SPY office for a tour of our global headquarters in Carlsbad. To end an absolute insane of a week at the beachfront mansion, SPY held an award ceremony dinner at Fidels, each receiving an engraved SPY Boot Camp 8 I-pod shuffle and a rad pair of Aerial 7 headphones for their flights back home. The final final send off party home was at the SPY night Wet Wednesday at Zenbu in Cardiff-By-The-Sea.
SPY Boot Camp 8 was an epic week…the Second Annual Winter Boot Camp is creeping up–stay tuned for more details!
