15-yr-old Parker Coffin from Santa Barbara is a charismatic ripper and one of the best young surfers in the world. With Rincon as his home break, Parker has honed his hallmark backside surfing style: expressive, smooth, fast and explosive.
SPY® and photographer Chris Straley made their way out to the North Shore for a photo shoot with Kauai girl and surf industry bombshell Alana Blanchard. Check out this short-but-sweet behind look into how it all went down.
Wake up with Melissa Marquardt and share a morning out of her daily life. The boat is your magical ticket to a wild ‘n’ watery ride, but beware the sea donkey. Life is better high above the lake.
The SPY crew made their way to Florida before the dawn of wake season to catch-up with Shane Bonifay in his ‘hood. The venue wound-up moving miles away from Shane’s stomping grounds of Orlando to Clermont, and the agenda switched from pre-season biz to mandatory good times on and off the water. Always easy to kick-off the season’s planning session with a couple boats , good friends, a mindset bent on fun and cool people cheering on Shane.
Filthy does not do this video justice. Nasty doesn’t do it justice either. Filthy McNasty might be a tastier way to say the day we just spent on Jeremy McGrath’s ranch was monuMENTAL. Jeremy asked us at SPY+ if we would help get a freeride track set up and we literally jumped at the chance. We also figured that we would throw Kevin Windham and Antonio Carolli into the mix for gits and shiggles. The end result… MonuMENTALly Filthy.
The SPY+ crew recently spent some quality hours on Oahu with John Florence. He went on to win the 2011 Volcom Pipe Pro, but not before we got him on camera at his favorite local spots in the water and on land, from Backdoor, Pipe and Ehukai to Banzai Skatepark and Ted’s Bakery… Country livin’ is good for John.
Clay’s surfing is raw, unscripted and exciting to watch. It’s captive because you never know what he’s going to do on a wave and it draws you in and puts you on the edge of your seat. It’s a roller coaster ride on speed.
SPY dodged gators and pythons to get to Clermont, Fla. and resident SPY wake guru Parks Bonifay recently. Check out this quick recap of what went down…
