Cody Thompson flew out to CA from FL early June 2011 to catch a south swell at Lower Trestles. This was all we got becuase he got hurt doing a big air which is at the end of the edit. Enjoy!

This is the follow up to my earlier mention of Ben Bourgeois’s 2 covers. Ben gets the cover of the July issue of Surfing Magazine. Reef’s recent movie ” Cancer to Capricorn” the path of the modern gypsy was thought of because of Ben. Ben has a secret spot that he is going to die with. It’s a incredible spot and he has the cover to prove it.
The Volcom VQS Championships was held May 13-15. This video features the Spy surfers Parker Coffin, Cody Thompson,Tyler Newton and Cory Arrambide during the last 2 days of the event. The Spy standout were Paker Coffin who placed 2nd in the Air division and Cody Thompson who placed 4th in the Pro Am division.

Most of us that grew up surfing had dreamed about one or more of these things; getting a picture in the surf mags, having a cool sponsor, getting paid to surf, going on rad trip or even having a part in a surf movie. Most people would be forever happy by making the Surfer Magazine Hot 100 #2 spot, like Clay recently did but Clay Marzo has taken it to another level.
Clay just got an 8 page story in the April issue of Rolling Stone. Yup Rolling Stone magazine! Now if that isn’t frickin cool you must be from Mars. I am calling out “rock star” status here for Clay.
I really am not a big believer in too much text on blogs. I think most of us like pictures and videos. Visual stimulation seems to have the biggest impact but since this is so rad I am going to put the whole article on this, so if you like to read here it is for free.

We made our way out to Jeremy McGrath’s private ranch last week for a day of photos and video footage. The ranch is located in southern California about an hour off the coast of San Diego in the middle of nowhere! Jeremy has some rad jumps out there and we took full advantage of him throwing some classic whips for the shoot. Tommy Searle also came out and threw down some style for the cameras.
