Here is a video from todays adventures. We spent the day with Alana Blanchard, getting an in-depth look into her life here on the north shore during contest season. How she deals with all the photo shoots, sponsors engagements, surfing, and keeping her mind focused.
The first stop in the Triple Crown of Surfing is Halewia. The women’s event is the Cholo’s Women’s Hawaiian Pro 6 star. Last year’s winner of this event was SPY’s Alana Blanchard of Hanalei Hawaii.
Alana was on fire throughout this event. She won every heat getting herself into the finals again, where she ended up with a 3rd place finish. The finals consisted of Stephanie Gilmore, Tyler Wright, Alana Blanchard and Jacqueline Silva.

This result helped Alana secure a spot in the WCT Gidget Pro at Sunset Beach Nov 24- Dec 6. It also help her cause to qualify into the World Championship Tour, better known as the WCT. It won’t be official until after the Sunset contest so check back for the confirmation with this.

Today was a day for the women. Round 1-3 happened today. Alana Blanchard starting at round 2 advanced into round 4 which happens tomorrow Tues Aug 3. Check back for the Spy athlete update.
