Level 1 Productions dropped it’s trailer for it’s 12th annual release, “After Dark,” featuring SPY’s Ahmet Dadali, Wiley Miller, Adam Delorme, Duncan Adams and JF Houle. Check it out below!
“The earth turns and the sun disappears over the horizon. Flip the switch, and the lights go out. Slumber begins and the mind awakes, taking us to places we’ve never been and witnessing things not yet seen or imagined.
From the enchanted powder forests of Japan, the historic streets of Moscow, to the unthawed mountains of Western America, and everywhere in between – Level 1 invites you into our spectrum of reality to see a succession of images, visions, sounds, and sensations quite unlike those of the conscious world.
Experience it for yourself – our dream, our vision of skiing.”
JF Houle’s career-long dreams of standing atop the X Games podium came true this past week in Tignes, France, where JF’s consistency and technical mastery earned him a gold medal in Ski Slopestyle. Earlier in the week, JF laid down runs that put him first in the qualifying heats, and then again on top of the heap in the finals, despite challenging weather conditions that forced competitors to battle speed and visibility issues throughout the event.
JF tamed things down for his first run, with a nosebutter 450 onto the flat-down box, a rodeo 7 on the first jump, a 450-on 270-off the flat-down rail, a180 over the snow gap to switch 270-on 270-off on the down box. He closed out the final two jumps with a double cork 1080 japan and 1 right 900 reverse mute. While he and the rest of the field had bigger plans for their following runs, the worsening weather conditions put a damper on things, and JF’s first run score ended up keeping him in the top spot for the remainder of the day.
JF commented on his Facebook page: ”I think I’m dreaming still. Since I’m a little kid, I have been dreaming about this day! Can’t believe it still! It happened! Gold medal at X Games. Thanks to everyone of you who always support me! LOVING LIFE as always!”

Gusty winds and heavy storms hightailed their way through the European Freeski Open forcing organizers to cancel its March 5th main freeski event in Laax, Switzerland. Alternatively organizers in the later afternoon unleashed the Stair Rail Battle down in the valley at the rockresort. Despite the last minute change up and harsh elements JF Houle crushed the comp yet again with a nose butter 450 on, pretzel 270 out.
JF has been on fire the past few weeks, also taking first in the L.A. Session at Les Arcs and 3rd at the Austrian Open at the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park.
“It’s been a very good trip for me. I can’t ask much more then 3 podiums in 3 weeks!” says JF.
Here is JF showing a sneak peak of the new Bodega sunglass that Spy is dropping real soon. These shads are stylish and smooth! Trust me when I say, you want a pair!
