6.0 Lowers Pro held at the prestigious surf break Lower Trestles San Clemente CA on April 29 - May 2, 2009.
The reigning champion Ben Bourgeois nearly repeated last years victory once again. Ben surfed flawlessly throughout his heats securing a spot into the WQS 6 star prime final in hopes to repeat his last years win. After surfing 6 heats to get into the final heat Ben seemed to run out of luck in finding waves that would help him secure the win for this event. Fred Patacchia seemed to be in rhythm which gave him the win over last year’s event winner Ben Bourgeios.
