If your not familiar with surfing, Taylor Steele is the godfather of making surf movies. He’s help build many careers in the past since the beginning of 1990. Well, Taylor has a new project called Innersection, http://innersection.tv/ This is a web based contest where surfers submit a max 3 min surf video that showcases their surfing ability and the online viewers vote for their favorite video. There are 2 stages for voting. The 1st stage is making it into the top 10 selections. The 2nd stage of voting is making it into the top 5 selections. The top 5 videos will be put into the Innersection DVD for sale. There are 4 submission times. July 1 was the 3rd one and Sept 1 is the final time.
We have 4 surfers, Dean Morrison, Clay Marzo, John Florence and Torrey Meister in this round. We need your support and votes to help get them through into the top 5 selection of this round.
To vote for our surfers you need to join and you can really help by rating them. Once you log in there will be stars on the right side of their section. Don’t be scared to rate them at 10 stars and throw out a positive comment. You can help make the difference for our surfer so please take the time and vote for them.
Here are the links to the Spy surfers so you can see how hard they rip.

May 4-8, 2010 was the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro WQS 6* Prime event held in San Clemente CA at Lower Trestles. Along with this contest there was also a grade 2 Oakley Pro Junior event.
The Spy surfers at this event were Dean Morrison, John Florence and Torrey Meister. In the Juniors event there were Tyler Newton, Nick Rupp, Evan Thompson.
The standout Spy surfer during this event was John Florence. He surfed this event like he was freesurfing. During this event he beat Dane Reynolds and Andy Irons along with many other creditable surfers. Look out for big thing from John Florence.
In the Junior Pro event the Spy surfer that stoodout was Tyler Newton. Tyler was ripping throughout the contest. In the finals he never really got the waves to showcase his talent but a 4th palce in this international event was not a bad showing. Newts is leading the Hawaiian Pro Junior ranking. Good surfng Newts!
Well another year of professional competative surfing has finally come to a close. Now that it’s all said and done our young team kicked some butt.
Dean Morrison finished 3rd at Pipe and finished in the top 16 on the WCT.
Torrey Mesiter got 3rd in the Triple Crown of Surfing’s overall ratings and finished 48th on the WQS overall ratings.
Alana Blanchard won the Vans Pro, the 1st women’s contest of the Triple Crown.
John (John) Florence made his mark at Pipe and referred to as a young verision of Jamie OBrien at Pipe and he also at the young age of 17 finished rated #84 on the WQS.
Oh and let’s not forget about Mike Losness’s art being display during the Reef Hawaiian Pro and at the Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa.
I would say this was a great year for Spy at the Triple Crown f Surfing and congrats to all the success to everyone on the team and look forward to a great 2010!
