July is a leisurely month and nothing says leisure like a little lawn bowling. Spy is once again a proud sponsor of the inaugural Vancouver Leisure Life Tour event, a lawn bowling tournament raising money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The 4-week tour is held on four consecutive Thursday nights, at the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club in Vancouver, BC.
The decision to support Cystic Fibrosis was inspired by Eva Markvoort, a friend of the organizers who has CF. Furthermore, CF is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting young Canadians. At last years event, 150+ participants raised over $11,000 for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
For 2010, Spy sunglasses will once again be awarded to team with the Sunniest Disposition throughout the entire event. Stay tuned for details of each stop in the series. Click here to check out some of the latest press in Georgia Straight.
Underworld’s second Vancouver Location is now open! The Grand opening party started at the new Location on Granville st, and rolled over to Fortune Sound Club for late hours of fun. The shop looks absolutely amazing, and features just about custom everything, including a Spy Section. Be sure to check it out the next time your in Vancouver.
Customers mingled with industry folk last Friday as Watch it! hosted a happy hour at their Robson st. location in Vancouver, BC. Spy and Vestal were on hand to support the event, which featured live DJ’s and special gifts for customers making Spy and Vestal purchases. It was a great way for this Watch it! location to kick off summer in Vancouver. Special thanks to Jacob’s Creek, and Coors Light for supplying the adult beverages.
Spy was on hand to support International Surf Day on Saturday June 20th, 2009. The general public and industry peeps gathered along Spanish Banks in Vancouver, B.C on this unofficial surfers holiday. This event was an opportunity to make an impact on the surf community in Vancouver. Everyone was able to celebrate together, and support the sport of surfing. Entertainment was arranged in and out of the water, Pacific Boarder and Second Wave provided paddleboards open to the public.
Office Boyz 2009 took Vancouver by storm, actually, by fog. The lack of vision seemed to have no effect on these old dogs. NOTE: The one and only rule of Office Boyz, “Must work in an Office.” Check the vid from one of the features: The spine of doom. Certain doom.
