Congratulations to SPY® team rider John John Florence for coming of World Championship age on the ASP: He was officially welcomed this past week to join the title chase on the back-half of the 2011 ASP World Championship Tour. John John made it to Surfing’s main stage by sheer force and in the wake of sad misfortune for Yadin Nicol, who broke his fibula free-surfing in Japan in late August. For more information go here.

OK if you’re a fan or surfing then you know that Alana is well known for her bottom turns. If you’re not aware then check out her round 2 heat in Brazil where she dominates Jessi Miley-Dyer. Oh ignore the edit that says Alana loses…. I think they were still distracted by Alana’s perfected maneuver. Enjoy!
Summer maybe be over. Groms maybe back in school. The sales maybe a little down and your local surf breaks maybe a little less crowded but that doesn’t mean it’s slowing down for the surf industry.
September kicks off with ASR (ActionSports Retailer) which is where all the comapnies get together and show there new products to all the surf retailers in the US and Canada.
After that the WCT (World Championship Tour) shows up at Lower Trestles, San Clemente for stop number 6 the Hurley Pro. As I write this the event is still going on…
In between that the Surfer Polls took place. It’s kind of our Acadamy Awards. That was last night and it was blast!
Check out the pictures I have collected from what’s going on.
Secrets go on during the sales meetings. It's the huddle before ASR's "Show Time"
Sales meeting product review with our sales reps. It looks like it's going to be a good year!

A lot of the guys on the WCT are extremely focused on doing well. Some times it can drive them crazy thinking about contest results and who they are surfing against. Dean found a healthy distraction in golf. He's been playing for 6 months now and loves the change scenery.
Torrey Meister trail blazing to check out the WCT, hopefully the next step in his career.
Lower Trestles viewing from the VIP area
There are other perks by being in the VIP area besides keeping away from the blazing sun. Here Torrey indulges while viewing wearing the Haymakers

Dean Morrison may have lost his round 3 heat but he continues to win the hearts of the surfing fans. Here he;s taking a break for some autographs
